experience
Maurene Tan’s core strength sits at the intersection of interior and landscape design, backed by solid project management. She worked on major projects like the Dubai Marina Office Tower retrofit and designed the 360° Water Ski Park in Singapore. After completing her landscape studies in New Zealand, she returned to DP Architects in 2009 as a Landscape Architect.
Her F&B design experience led her into entrepreneurship in Vietnam, where she launched Geylang@Saigon. By combining green design with sharp ROI thinking, the business became profitable within a year, followed by expansion into a second outlet and a 26-room backpacker hotel. Across these ventures, she handled everything—strategy, branding, operations, hiring, and financial control.
She also worked internationally, collaborating with South African ecologists on biodiversity projects and delivering greening consultancy in India and Oman, while gaining exposure to global markets through trade exhibitions.
Back in Singapore, she turned around an outdoor furniture retail business—stabilising operations and scaling it through e-commerce and a design-and-build arm.
She later became Director at Greenology Pte Ltd, focusing on tech-driven green solutions for climate and urban environments. She was also Head of Business Development at DigitalBuild Pte Ltd, she introduced digital transformation in construction—bridging traditional methods with smarter, faster, and more compliant delivery systems.
